Palm Bay Academy Charter School

At the elementary level, students learn at their own pace in non-competitive classrooms based on the Montessori method of instruction. Teachers develop individualized learning plans that encourage, respect and inspire each student’s talents. The Montessori program gives students learning choices using concrete materials they can get their hands on and their minds around. A state-of-the-art science lab, technology department and Montessori lab give students the latest tools and technology to conduct research and class projects. Community awareness and the arts also are important components of the curriculum. Students learn how to be good citizens of the world through regular school visits by community leaders and civic-minded field trips to places such as Washington D.C.

The creative spirit within each child is nurtured through art, drama, music and a young authors’ writing program. Students have the opportunity to attend writing conferences and meet authors who visit the school. The drama department has a partnership with The Theatre Company of Palm Bay to write, direct and produce classical children’s plays.

In middle school, 7th and 8th grade students study the Liberal Arts, the Humanities and Foreign Language alongside core academic subjects including Math, Science and Technology. Gifted and accelerated classes also provide the intellectual challenge for students wanting to achieve more.
