Royal Palm Charter Academy

From butterfly gardens to science fairs, this charter school provides many hands-on learning opportunities for students in grades kindergarten through 6 to connect with core knowledge. As the sister school to Oakwood Academy Charter School, Royal Palm Charter Academy uses the Core Knowledge Curriculum, which is taught in a sequence that lets students build on what they know. Students develop cultural literacy in the context of core subjects including: Literature, History, Geography, Social Studies, Science, Art and Music.

A low student/teacher ratio allows teachers to better meet the needs of each student. Within each class, students work in small reading groups to build better vocabulary and reading comprehension skills. Gifted students will find the intellectual stimulation they need in a school-based “pull out” program that provides advanced level instruction. All students have daily use of classroom computers equipped with Internet access to complete coursework and conduct research. After school, students can make new friends and enjoy different experiences in the scouting program for boys and girls and the dance program. Parents can get involved with the school through the Parent Teacher Organization and the volunteer program.
