7 Elementary School of International Studies As the third highest performing school in the State of Florida, this International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) offers an inquiry-based curriculum from a worldview that meets international standards. The goal is to help young students develop an international perspective and appreciation for other cultures while providing a strong academic foundation. Freedom 7 Elementary is one of the three elementary Millennium Schools of Choice that combine international studies with a strong character education program. Students in each grade level work on six units of inquiry based on a theme that culminates with a hands-on project. Students learn early on how to conduct research, share knowledge, work in groups and express what they know using the latest technological tools. Foreign language forms an essential part of a student’s global view. Starting in kindergarten, all students in The International Baccalaureate PYP receive Spanish instruction as part of the curriculum. The foreign language lab supports learning with multi-media activities. While core subjects including Languages, Social Studies, Mathematics, Science and Technology provide the academic foundation, enrichment classes in the Arts, Life Skills and Physical Education are integral to a well-rounded education. Distinguished for its top-ranking FCAT scores in several subject areas and grade levels, Freedom 7 challenges each student with high expectations in academics and personal development. The end goal is preparing students for principle-centered citizenship in the 21st century. 400 4th Street S, Cocoa Beach, FL 32931 • Tel (321) 868-6610 Click to view website |
